Sanofi is recruiting a Software Engineering Leader, reporting to the head of the Digital Clinical Patients & Sites engagement team.

To support this transformation, we have started some in-house development, aiming to develop a product to manage, enter, govern information about our sites. The product team follows an Agile way of working, streamlined with long term milestones.

Key Responsibilities: 

Lead the design and development of end-to-end data programming automation, to meet business needs in an operationally and financially efficient mannerIdentify bottlenecks and improve performancePromote the best practices and correct usage of standardsProvide mentorship/coaching to other team members at Budapest Digital Hub site and globallyEnsure understandability, useability, and user-friendliness of the product by proactively implementing design best practices and challenging user-requirementsManage external 3rd Party vendors and provide oversight on product implementationParticipate in business research, including surveys, workshops, and leading user interviews, to support the product owner in exploring new opportunitiesCollaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for solution improvementsWork with product owners, solution architects, technical leads, and other developers for user story framing/grooming, solution design, and alignmentDecompose user stories into tasks, estimate story points, and ensure timely updates in JiraCreate and optimize prototypes, aligning with business and digital stakeholdersWrite required documentation and follow the validation process with QA/quality expertsSupport QA during SIT/UAT phases, escalating issues, risks, and identifying decisions neededDesign, code, test, debug, and maintain digital applications according to requirementsAssist in the deployment of applications to production environment and provide technical support during and after the release phaseContribute to the entire application lifecycle, with a focus on coding and debuggingEnsure software meets all requirements of quality, security, extensibility, etc.. Conduct peer reviews for quality, consistency, and rigor for production level solutionActively contribute to Digital Software Engineering community and define leading practices and frameworksRemain up to date on the company’s standards, industry practices and emerging technologies

About you

You have a strong background in scalable digital application development, extensive knowledge of coding languages, intermediate or advance knowledge of DB design & maintenance, and awareness on UX/UI principles.

You can understand Business workflows and how they are implemented in the productYou can estimate the programming quality and code-maintainability and provide feedback to the product ownerYou show curiosity and have appetite for challenge, learning and innovation

Education: 

Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field

Experience & skills 

Minimum +7 years of experience in a similar roleProven application development experience, preferably in a related industryProven experience in application lifecycle (implementation, transition to run mode, maintenance and enhancements)Understanding of software quality assurance principles and Agile methodologiesHands-on experience with JavaScript, Java, Python, HTML, Relational DB, IICS is a plusUnderstanding of data integration (extract, transform, and load)Intermediate or Advanced DB statement, experience with relational databases and/or graph databasesFamiliarity with development-support tools like Node.js, react.js, GitHub, PyCharm, Docker engine
