Role Summary Regular software updates are at the core of Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies' identify as a company that supports and improves its products long after the first sale, as well as core to how we develop and iterate within Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies engineering. Our OTA Cloud team is therefore also at the core of this identity by developing and maintaining the full stack infrastructure required to enable hundreds of thousands of updates every day consistently and reliably. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead our full stack OTA Cloud development team and support them in achieving our goal of building the best OTA software stack in the industry. Responsibilities Work with stakeholders and the team to define roadmaps, requirements, metrics and a long term vision for the OTA product Lead and mentor a team of talented full-stack software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and technical excellence while developing a highly available, massively scalable product Recruit, onboard, and develop new engineers to realize that scope Ensure the team works under a healthy and effective software development lifecycle, including owning and revising the team's practices and standards Effectively prioritize the needs of diverse customers with each other and with the team's and technology's abilities to create the best possible business outcomes, both in the short and long term Leverage strong technical expertise to provide guidance, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure best practices in coding and technical processes through leadership and strategic oversight Qualifications Qualifications: Experience working directly with stakeholders and customers to shape a complex technical roadmap and product vision, while negotiating priorities and timetables Experience leading full stack web development teams, including at least 3 years of direct people management 10+ years experience in full stack development, with experience across different parts of the stack, from infrastructure as code all the way up to frontend development, on highly available, massively scalable platforms Experience developing web applications on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or a similar cloud provider Ability to drive and lead the team through ambiguity, including defining the team's goals Strong technical comprehension and communication skills, including the ability to quickly understand complex technical systems well enough to communicate effectively with non-technical audiences and senior management Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing and operating a cutting-edge over-the-air (OTA) update system or a similar robust release management pipeline Experience translating diverse stakeholder needs into strategic, long-term product roadmaps Experience managing highly performing engineering teams Experience with some of the following tools and tech: Terraform/Terragrunt, AWS, Databricks, Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Goland, PySpark, Git, Gitlab, Jira Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $186,000 - $232,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
