The Ribbon Software Engineering Senior Technical Specialist uses specialized knowledge of Ribbon’s proprietary PSX Policy Server to design proprietary policy-based routing software, develop call routing and processing software for VoIP networking, and support Ribbon's products performance primarily for customers in North America. Such tasks require extensive knowledge of Ribbon’s technologies, including PSX Policy Server modules, protocols, practices, and procedures. Utilize highly specialized knowledge of proprietary technologies and methodologies to assist Ribbon and its customers in North America in fully utilizing the complex functionality of the technology to meet their policy routing and VoIP business needs. Position is hybrid in office/remote position requiring 2-3 days of in office work per week.
Job Requirements: Position requires: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related field. Position requires 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation in which the required experience was gained.
Must have experience in each of the following skills:
1. Proven experience programming in C and C++ with Multithreading.
2. Expertise in SIP, VoIP protocols, and call routing within telecom subsystems.
3. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
4. Proficiency in SQL, shell scripting, Python, and/or Perl.
5. Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and virtualization technologies. 6. Experience using debugging tools like GDB, Valgrind, and AddressSanitizer.
7. Proven ability to troubleshoot software systems for performance optimization.
