The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.  We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a robust Information Technology (IT) and Software Development background to join our team. The ideal candidate will have successfully managed large-scale projects and possess a proven track record of delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.  The candidate should be familiar with and understand the product lifecycle phases from initiation through delivery.  This project manager supports the Command-and-Control Project Management Office. The Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination of work on the Launch Control System.  We are seeking an innovative and results-driven applicant to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities\:
As a Project Manager for the Kennedy Space Center Launch Control Center, you will\:

- Proactively Manage Risks by identifying, assessing, and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize risks and keep projects on track.
- Facilitate Collaboration to organize and document project team meetings, fostering collaboration and alignment among stakeholders.
- Conduct Assessments by coordinating and performing thorough project evaluations to ensure goals are being met and identify opportunities for improvement.

What You'll Need to Succeed\:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).  A combination of advanced education and relevant experience will be considered.
- At least 4 years of progressive experience in project management, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects successfully.  (May also be filled at a level 3, BS Degree in computer or system science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university and a minimum of ten (10) years of direct progressive and relevant experience. Additional relevant education may be substituted for a portion of the experience.)
- Strong understanding of Project Management principles, CMMI, VersionOne, and software change management processes (preferred).
- Experience in hardware/software development, systems engineering, or project management in the Aerospace industry is highly desirable.
- Certifications like PMP, Scrum Master, or similar are a plus.
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and MS PowerPoint. 
- Knowledge of Power BI is a bonus.

- Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for trouble shooting.
- Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment.
- Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
- Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
- Position is located on a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an
emergency.
 
Work Environment
- Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex.
- Position may require daily individual to travel to different areas on site.
- Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on
the facility.
- Climbing ladders and platforms may be necessary.
- All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.

- Computers and printers used for producing reports and schedules.
- Variety of equipment used in testing.
 
Attendance
- Full-time regular work hours between Monday-Friday.
- Position may require overtime including weekend work depending on task.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Shift work may be required.
