Software Implementation Engineer
OVERVIEW We are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Implementation Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be pivotal in deploying, configuring, and integrating software solutions for our clients. Working closely with internal teams and clients, you will ensure the successful implementation and adoption of our products. Your responsibilities will include establishing a comprehensive framework to address all data requirements and validation needs during client onboarding, performing production support tasks as necessary, and upkeeping implementation documentation for cross-functional reference. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, configure software solutions, and lead deployment projects, including installation, configuration, testing, and training. * Works on a milestone-based timeline to complete all technical tasks required for each client implementation – data migration/transfer, ingestion, mapping, validation, processing, reporting, etc. * Provide technical support to clients during the implementation process and post-implementation. * Document implementation processes and provide training to internal teams. * Creates new client documentation of all business information and data details – schemas, rules, exceptions, special call outs, etc. * Work closely with the development team to provide feedback on product improvements based on client feedback. * Collaborates with product and operations engineers to optimize the ingestion processes, data mapping and validation checks, and other processing jobs. * Conducts/participates in a minimum of the following meetings: code review, release planning, backlog refinement, and daily standup. * Creates and maintains various forms of release documentation – change controls, release notes, deployment activities log, etc. * Assists with defect management and root cause analysis for data ingestion, staging, and validation related processes and jobs. * Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to software implementation. * Maintains Jira tasks to reflect progress on all implementation and production support activities. * Produces client facing reports. * Ability to be on call weeknights or weekends at the discretion of management. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Responsible for compliance with all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations affecting Company. * Responsible for participating in quality assurance, compliance and in-service and continuing education activities as requested by Company. * Responsible for performing other duties and responsibilities as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Excellent documentation skills. * Team player. * Proficiency in Python programming language for data processing and analysis. * Proficiency in PySpark for debugging data pipelines. * Hands-on experience with SQL query authoring for data analyses and validation. * Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Glue, EMR, Athena, and Redshift for data storage and processing. * Understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and file-based databases for data modeling and storage. * Basic knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts. * Exposure to healthcare data domains, including eligibility, claims, payments, and risk adjustment datasets. * Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and troubleshoot data pipelines and ETL processes. * Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams. * Proficiency in maintaining data pipelines for processing moderate volumes of data. * Ability to assist in modeling data in relational and file-based databases to support data processing requirements. * Capability to write code for data processing tasks and an eagerness to improve efficiency and maintainability. * Ability to manage tasks effectively, stay organized, and meet deadlines. * Willingness to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. * Basic analytical skills to identify and address data quality issues and performance bottlenecks. * Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders. * Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work. * Ability to handle problems involving several variables in standardized situations. * Adaptability to work in an environment with potential interruptions. * Capability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks with individual timeframes and priorities. * Skill in communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. * Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions. * Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, coworkers, customers, and others. * Ability to manage open requests and follow up when necessary, without outside direction. * Ability to manage time effectively with strong attention to detail. * Ability to interact politely, tactfully, and firmly with a wide range of people and personalities. * Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks with individual timeframes and priorities. * Ability to process multiple clients simultaneously end to end within the SLA timeframe. * Ability to use and monitor tools such as S3, Athena, Glue, Lamdba, Step Functions, Cloudwatch, DynamoDB, Quicksight, EMR Studio, Jhub, SSMS, SSIS, and Tableau. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * BA or BS in data science, computer science, information systems, or other related degrees. * Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a role responsible for technical implementation tasks for software products. * Minimum of 1 years’ experience working with healthcare data such as medical claims, pharmacy claims, membership, or provider data. * Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling tools. * Experience using PySpark is a plus. * Experience using GitHub, GitLab, or any other version control software. * Experience working with large datasets. * Experience with cloud-based data technologies (e.g., AWS and others). * Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
