Software Intern, Automation (Summer 2025)
This intern will work closely with engineering to modernize portions of Cadence’s software across multiple platforms and using both C and C++. Guidelines and previous processes will be provided to continue to revamp legacy systems. Automation is key and intern will have access to past scripts and automation tools, as well as freedom and responsibility to develop new or improve existing automation. Intern will be responsible for assuring changes progress while project continues to build successfully on all platforms and continues to pass regression tests. Intern will manage a project branch of a large commercial product and assure the branch stays in sync with the main release and ultimately landing the branch on the main release.
Deliverables:
+ Changes to source code, reviewed with Review Board and submitted via Perforce
+ Weekly tracking and status
+ Project Report and presentation at end of internship
+ Updated solutions guidebook for problems faced and document any reusable automation developed
+ Bugs filed on existing code when problems are discovered, work with engineering to resolve
Learning Objectives:
+ Currently pursuing BS or MS in CS, CE, ECE, or equivalent
+ Experience with C, C++, linux, Emacs, shell scripting, Makefiles, compilers on a real-world project
+ Exposure to industry common tools and processes such as code reviews and large source code management systems
