Software Manager
Applied Materials
Applied Materials is looking for a highly motivated Software Manager who will join our Data Products group. The manager will lead the software development of Athena a new software system written in top modern technology.
**What’s in it for you?**
You will be working as part of the engineering organization to build and execute the plan to accomplish business and program objectives. You will directly manage a large team in Israel and work with a team in India. You will be leading the development and execution of the new system.
**Our group:**
Our group is building a new system that is responsible for collecting data from various sources in our customers’ environment. This distributed system, built on top on Kubernetes, serves as a private cloud with different applications that we will build on top of it, including machine learning and deep learning solutions. The development is done with the newest technologies and architecture including SOA, Docker, Gradle, NoSQL, S3 and more. The code is written in Java (Spring boot) and Python.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Manage software developers in Israel.
+ Work and lead the development of the product with our SW developers abroad.
+ Keep up with agile/scrum best practices and trends.
+ Work closely with the Product Manager and the Product Owner.
+ Responsible for the code quality of the entire group.
+ Maintain the conceptual and technical integrity of the features for the teams.
+ Responsible for the delivery time of the product.
+ Responsible for the QA automation.
+ Supporting internal and external customers.
**Skills and Experience**
+ At least 8 years of experience as a manager.
+ Experience in managing multi-teams’ group – an advantage.
+ Experience as a SW engineer, preferably in as a Java or Python developer.
+ A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree.
+ Experience in agile methodology.
+ Self-motivated, approachable, adaptable and have excellent communication skills; both written and verbal English is a must.
+ Sense of Urgency and ability to work under pressure and deliver projects on time.
+ Ability to break down complex features into user stories that have business value and can be understood by development teams.
+ Experience with designing architecture for complex systems.
+ Proven technical skills and self-learning ability, capable of thoroughly understanding the functional and technical aspects of complex systems.
+ Proactive, highly motivated and goal oriented.
+ Ability to inspire and excite the development team, people person.
