Discover Impactful Work:You will lead an internationally diverse and highly motivated team of about 1020 software engineers which is expected to grow further in the future.
As part of Thermo Fisher Scientific you will develop and grow our software staff and teams to support our digital science vision. You will provide career coaching break down barriers and teams in collaborating with other groups to achieve our vision.
You will play a crucial role in supporting and facilitating the adoption of Agile principles and practices.
In Optics Automation & Integration software group we develop advanced optics automation software for our electron microscope that help to understand atomic structures. The group also integrates and customizes Optics control algorithms developed by other internal and external teams to support specific customer workflows.
The group develops software targeted at platforms ranging from high-performance embedded Linux systems to Windows PCs. To do so, a wide variety of technologies, languages and tools are used. A couple of examples: C++20, Python, CMake, Conan, Jenkins, gRPC, Jira, Docker.
A day in the Life:Responsible for empowering and developing the software development team within Agile framework. This involves coaching and mentoring team members, fostering their professional growth, and promoting a self-organizing teamWorking together with your manager and peers based in the Netherlands, Czech Republic and France to align on the strategy of the department and work on capacity and competences of your team.Ensure the agile teams are equipped with the right skills, knowledge, tools, infrastructure, and support to successfully deliver the software requested.Champion a high-performance team by creating psychological safety, positive work environment, promote collaboration, and motivate the team to achieve their goals.Support teams deliver software according to the agreed quality standards and levels and help them to resolve quality impediments.Responsible to maintain team knowledge, contribution and in line with the applicable Company Policies.Align with product management on budgets and priorities.
