Software Product Owner

This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment.

Summary:

The Product Owner (PO) Role is an essential member of any scrum team. Our Product Owners ensure proper planning and efficient execution of software development. If selected you will be working with talented global teams consisting of software, system, and test engineers. Aptiv develops cutting edge advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) which enhance vehicle safety. Studies show just a half a second more warning can mitigate or prevent 60 percent of accidents. The underlying features such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane keeping assistance technologies (and more) that have the power to prevent accidents and save lives.

Responsibilities:

Own and maintain the Scrum Team Backlog (planning and prioritizing)Responsible for the internal stakeholder and customer communication for the assigned scrum team/productDefine the team’s specific objectives for the upcoming sprint/program incrementSet Definition of Done (DoD) and accept or reject stories based on the DoDParticipate in the development of acceptance criteria for featuresProtect the long term technical integrity of the feature/productCoordinate content dependencies with other PO’s and all relevant stakeholdersResponsible for the quality of the feature/product/ componentPlan and coordinate software development activities

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, systems, or related field of study)3+ years of experience with embedded software in Automotive Industry or Consumer Electronics2+ years of experience as Product Owner or Team Lead experienceInterpersonal skills, strong analytical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a positive approach to challengeCross functional interests, ambitious and self-driven. Adaptive, comfortable with ambiguityAbility to effectively manage several projects at onceStrong soft skills: skilled networking creation, influencing skills, constantly learning, positive and ownership profile
