Job Summary:
Altair Engineering is seeking Quality Assurance Engineer to join "Quality Center of Excellence" team. QA COE team works closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Development Operations to keep new code moving through the software development lifecycle efficiently, and with a keen eye for quality. We’re looking for someone smart, energetic, and self-motivated who can collaborate effectively. Critical skills for this position include solid experience with Altair's CAE products such or HyperMesh, HyperView, HyperGraph or similar products. Experience with simulation solvers such as Abaqus, Ansys, Optistruct, Nastran, Radioss etc. Exposure/Experience with programming/scripting with Python or similar language. Strong technical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting release deadlines.
Quality Assurance Engineer plays important role to maintain quality and reliability of Altair Simulation products. As Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for the testing and evaluation of various functionalities of HyperWorks products (Such as HyperMesh, HyperView, HyperGraph, etc) before their release to market. The functionality includes FE model creation, Analysis setup, model editing, solver execution and post- processing. You will work closely with product managers, subject matter experts, and the other members of the software product development team. In addition you will work with QA Engineers across Altair as part of our Quality Center of Excellence including Security Testing, Performance Testing, Automation and more.
What You Will Do:
Work independently on all aspects of QA. Work in FEA Solver Interfaces in HyperMesh, HyperView, HyperGraph and to apply QA practices for commercial release of software. Write test cases, test scenarios and automated tests for features in products. Create, maintain and report of use cases execution using tools like JIRA, Confluence, XRay. Review and maintain current suite of manual and automated tests. Automate test cases using scripting and porting existing automated tests to high performance systems. Validate product issues discovered by QA, field engineers or customers. Help to examine root cause of problems and incorporate them in testing. Serving as an advocate for software quality. Collaborates, communicates well across the HW QA team, across Altair QA COE team and other teams (Dev, PM, Support, Doc, Devops). Review documents and tutorials for Altair Simulation Products.What You Will Need:
Basics:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar technical field or equivalent experience. 2+ years experience in engineering simulation software environment.
Preferred:
Experience in FEA/CAE simulation using commercial products. Experience with QA role in CAE software production environment. Knowledge of customer workflows for using simulation software in Automotive, Aerospace or Heavy industry. Proficient/experience in scripting language like Python or similarHow You Will Be Successful:
