Role and Responsibilities
The QA Engineer will manage the entire user trial process for Samsung's upcoming products. They should excel in multitasking as they will handle multiple projects simultaneously. It is crucial to consider the user perspective when evaluating issues reported and determining their validity for registration in our internal system. The ideal candidate will design, implement, coordinate, and manage the user trial process, identifying potential risks and establishing a risk management program accordingly. They will oversee the User Trial projects in North America, ensuring no undetected problems exist.
Lead and manage overall User Trial testing for Samsung's unreleased productsEnsure successful execution of multiple projects simultaneouslyStrategic planning and execution, identify and mitigate potential risksMeet market impact and product specification standardsCollaborate with Client-side Project Management, R&D, and QA teamsGather project considerations and information for comprehensive project plansReview defects registered by end-users and facilitate communication with R&DCommunicate high-priority risk defects/events to middle and upper managementCoordinate with inter-departmental teams to track carrier and manufacturing schedulesCoordinate User Trial project schedules and testing considerations.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with client-side Project Management, R&D, and QA teams to gather project requirements and information for creating project plans.Monitor and control project progress using metrics and KPIs, implementing documented or new mitigation strategies for risk events.Prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, maintaining effective communication with key project stakeholders.Evaluate project acceptance based on market impact and product specifications (technical aspects).Review defects reported by end-users and facilitate communication between them and the R&D team.Highlight critical risk defects/events to senior management.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align carrier and manufacturing schedules with User Trial project timelines and testing considerations.Allocate resources across projects based on workload priorities, etc., ensuring all project conditions and tasks are completed successfully.Create, distribute, and report User Experience or Defect related surveys targeting high-priority, impactful end-user features to upper management.Manage team resources based on daily project status and anticipated workload.Work closely with the security team to prevent security incidents during the User Trial Project period.Plan and execute OTA deployments in an internal testing environment involving device/system configurations across multiple internal and carrier-specific systems.Gather and analyze data from various sources, preparing spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and tables to plan and prioritize multiple work assignments.Communicate professionally with internal/external teams and end-users to foster positive relationships.Determine appropriate courses of action to achieve objectives and tasks with minimal guidance.Provide oversight and direction to employees within the operating unit, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.Empower employees to take ownership of their roles and responsibilities, delegating tasks and expecting accountability and regular feedback.Utilize a comprehensive performance management and development process that encourages employee contributions, including goal setting, feedback, and performance improvement planning.Effectively allocate resources to meet departmental productivity and quality goals, improving the efficiency of business processes and procedures.Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management information systems, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.Minimum 5 years' experience in software testing for the mobile technology industry required.Korean (business proficiency) and English (business proficiency) speaking/reading/writing ability is required.Advanced knowledge of software testing methodologies (Blackbox / Whitebox).Familiarity with ISTQB best practices (certifications preferred).Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively guide and mentor team membersSelf-motivated individual with an objective mindset capable of leading a team towards achieving business objectives.* Please visit Samsung membership to see Privacy Policy, which defaults according to your location.
