We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join our Clinical Systems Development team in our pioneering R&D facility in Wilmslow!

 

Clinical Systems Development develop Waters Clinical and IVD Systems, Hardware and Software. This is a unique opportunity to get involved in a new organisation, with a mission to delivering customer benefit in the clinical market segment through the evaluation, development and deployment of innovative clinical system capabilities.

 

By joining our team, you will aid in the design, development and maintenance of software related clinical products though testing for the company, to influence continual technical learning within the department and to ensure that software generated by the company is fit for purpose and meets the customers’ needs.

 

This is a hybrid role, 3 days in the office, 2 days home.

Responsibilities Responsibilities:

Software Testing and Documentation:

Test, maintain, and review software.Document software testing activities and results.

Test Scenario Design and Development:

Design, develop, and maintain test scenarios for software testing and evaluation.

Automation Testing:

Contribute to the generation of automation tests to improve the efficiency of the software testing process.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with team members on software and technical issues.Work within and across teams to enhance working practices and skill levels.

User Support:

Provide test support to internal and external users as needed.

 

Qualifications

We'd love to hear from you if you meet the follwing requirements: 

Educational Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.Experience:Proven experience in software testing and engineering practice, in a senior or lead role.Proven experience with manual and automated testing processes.Technical Skills:Experience with test automation tools.knowledge of programming/scripting languages.Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools.Experience with API testing.Methodologies and Frameworks:Expertise in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.Experience in developing and implementing test plans, and test Scenarios.Experience with BDD and Gherkin.Soft Skills:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Ability to mentor and guide junior team members.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.Strong commitment to quality and a keen eye for detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks in software products.

Any of the following experience would be desirable but not crucial as we would provide support to you:

Testing software for analytical instrumentation.Test of software for medical devices.
