Your Role:

Ready to take your software testing career to new heights? Join SolarWinds as a Software Test Engineer and make a significant impact on our business. We’re seeking individuals who are passionate, committed, and ready to contribute positively to our mission.

Position Overview & Objective: As a Software Test Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring top-notch quality in our business applications. You’ll focus on product quality, test case automation, defect analysis, and collaborate with engineers to enhance our testing processes. Your responsibilities will include test plan development, execution, and communication of team status. Mentoring team members and aligning testing efforts will also be a key part of your role.

Your Impact:

Identify design issues and propose testability improvements. Collaborate in creating valuable, usable, and automatically testable user stories. Design, execute, and report test cases, and contribute to automated test development. Independently drive topics from concept to completion. Analyze and assist with customer issue resolution, root cause analysis, and issue prevention. Mentor engineering team members in testing practices. Develop automated regression test suites using testing tools. Provide QA status reports to project stakeholders, fostering a culture of improvement. Collaborate with teams to identify and isolate defects, streamlining defect remediation.

Your Experience:

Basic Qualifications

Proficiency in software testing and proposing design changes. Familiarity with cost considerations and architecture layers in test design. Understanding of test automation principles and tools. Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C#, Java) and databases. Problem-solving skills and a solid grasp of Agile methodologies. Experience with configuration management tools and computer networking. Testing experience in Windows environments. Knowledge of testing concepts and methodologies. Familiarity with automated testing tools. Exposure to RESTful APIs and Distributed Web Applications.

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of related experience or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
