Overview

Joby Aviation is seeking a driven engineer with an ability to understand complex problems and create reliable and repeatable solutions. This engineer will play a key role in a small, fast-moving team. They will participate in architecture design and implementation inside of our systems integration test automation system for our electric-powered, fly-by-wire aircraft.

 

Specifically, this role focuses on writing Test Automation frameworks for embedded aviation components. We are looking for software engineers with strong Python and computer networking skills.

Responsibilities Create CI/CD pipelines to automate Software Verification tasks with TeamCityIntegrate existing Python tools into CI/CD pipelines in order to automate and optimize workflowsCoordinate dynamic hardware allocation to TeamCity or Jenkins agents to provide necessary resources to execute a testMaintain support for automation activities in ironbird facilitiesMaintain hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) framework with dockerized containers, aircraft-worthy hardware, and test-only hardware in the network Required University degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar STEM field and 3+ years practical industry experience. An advanced degree and 1+ yrs experience will also be considered.Expert knowledge of PythonUnderstanding of Continuous Integration, Continuous Development (CI/CD) and DevOps toolsNetwork experience (VLANs, UDP, Wireshark, etc)Willing to work a majority of the time onsite at Joby’s Santa Cruz facility Desired Experience with Kubernetes and other similar toolsPrevious experience working in a requirement-driven environmentExperience working with containerization technologies; docker experience preferredWillingness to be flexible and learn new technologiesAbility to work effectively as a team member in a geographically distributed team

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $115,700 - $154,300/yr. The compensation package offered will be determined by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
