Verdantas is seeking a Soil Technician II. This position will be located in Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities: Nuclear density testing Effectively communicate with contractors, clients, project managers, and supervisor Confirmation of adherence to current regulatory agencies’ grading ordinances and building codes Be attentive to detail and concentrate efforts on learning technical skills Remain up-to-date on current projects via supervisor, project managers and other technicians Prepare and review field paperwork, maps, and test sheets and submit them daily Communicate on a daily basis with direct supervisor and project manager of each project, all progress and any special situations or problems Attend tailgate safety meetings, loss prevention meetings, and other required meetings Follow company policies and procedures and safety procedures
Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED 4-year college degree in Earth Science or Engineering is a plus 3+ years of soil testing experience or equivalent Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodation, sometimes over substantial distances Ability to read, analyze and interpret design plans and project instructions Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to write effective daily reports Experience with Moisture Density Gauge operation Must have your own vehicle to be able to transport Nuclear gauge/field equipment and go off-road on undeveloped sites Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening Preferred Certifications: City of LA Deputy Grading Inspector Certification American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 Certification Caltrans Certifications: CTM 125, 216, 231, 375, 504, 518, 523, 533, 539 and 540 40 Hour Hazwoper Training
