Ameresco is currently seeking a proactive and technically skilled Solar and Energy Storage Operations Support Specialist to join our team and support regional operations across solar, energy storage, and data acquisition systems (DAS). The successful candidate will play a key role in field troubleshooting, assisting in SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and DAS development, and ensuring the efficient operation of Customer and Ameresco assets. This position requires hands-on experience with solar power, energy storage systems, and data acquisition tools, along with strong problem-solving skills to support both field teams and regional operations.
Responsibilities:
+ Field Troubleshooting Support: Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to solar, energy storage, and DAS systems in the field, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
+ SCADA and DAS Development & Support: Assist in the development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SCADA and DAS platforms to monitor, control, and optimize solar and energy storage systems. Provide technical support to ensure data acquisition systems are functioning accurately and efficiently.
+ Operations Support: Provide day-to-day operational support for solar and energy storage systems, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards. Monitor system performance through SCADA/DAS tools and identify opportunities for optimization.
+ Collaboration with Regional Teams: Work closely with regional operations teams to ensure that solar, energy storage, and DAS systems are properly configured, supported, and maintained. Assist in coordinating field support and managing troubleshooting efforts to enhance system reliability.
+ System Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance and assist in troubleshooting field issues, including solar panel systems, battery storage systems, inverters, and associated components.
+ Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of troubleshooting activities, system issues, and repairs. Provide clear and concise reports to senior operations management, outlining technical challenges and solutions.
+ Training & Knowledge Transfer: Support training for field technicians and other team members on troubleshooting procedures, SCADA/DAS operations, and best practices for solar and energy storage systems.
+ Continuous Improvement: Assist in identifying and recommending improvements to system designs, processes, and tools to enhance operational efficiency, system reliability, and performance.
+ Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a technical role in the energy sector.
+ Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working with solar power systems, energy storage systems, and data acquisition systems (DAS).
+ Experience with SCADA systems and troubleshooting in energy sector operations is required.
+ Experience in field troubleshooting and system diagnostics for solar, energy storage, or related electrical systems.
Additional Qualifications:
+ Strong understanding of energy storage technologies, solar power generation, inverters, and other renewable energy technologies.
+ Familiarity with electrical systems and controls, safety protocols, and industry standards.
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and system design documents.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including field technicians, engineers, and operations staff.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document and report on technical issues clearly.
