Solar Engineer Intern
Who We Are Looking For

The Solar Engineering Intern will be part of the Clearway Operations Engineering team and will report to the Director of Operations Engineering. The mission of the Ops Engineering team is to optimize the performance of Clearway Wind, Solar and BESS power plants and ensure we are good stewards of the U.S. electric grid. This position is part of the 10-week Summer Internship Program at Clearway Energy Group beginning in June 2025.  

We are looking for first year students in a graduate program in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with an emphasis on renewable energy technologies. 

Throughout this summer internship program, you’ll get exposure to real projects and challenges while gaining first-hand professional experience. At Clearway, you’ll gain access to an innovative and fast-paced work environment. You’ll also participate in networking and learning events with your fellow intern cohort. 

*This job posting is open to Clearway’s Scottsdale, AZ office.

What You'll Be Doing

Evaluate Solar Module Degradation Impact on Plant Performance 

The Solar Engineering Intern will primarily be responsible for evaluating the solar plant performance impact of PV module degradation and will be assigned to an individual project. At the end of the internship, the Solar Engineering Intern will present their final project to leadership. 

What You'll Bring Experience in PV technologies and theory of operation.  Proficiency in data analysis and critical thinking.  Successful candidate should be a strong user of MS Excel and other analytical tools  Intellectual curiosity and an interest in renewable energy.
