Job Description

Create 3D models and complete 2D shop drawings of steel trailer components for one of the most important manufacturers of custom-built trailers in North America using Solid Edge software.

Essential Functions:

Examine documents such as drawings and specifications to detail 2D drawings;

Prepare detailed 2D drawings by modeling individual parts, sheet metal parts and assemblies;

Confer with the coordinator to obtain missing information and to resolve discrepancies and compile required changes to documents;

Consult with the coordinator for any special considerations;

Incorporate and understand corrections and/or adjustments after drawings are reviewed;

Use computer-assisted drafting equipment and software (Solid Edge)

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating effectively with coworkers and supervisors;

Perform other job duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Graduate from Technical High School or Technical university or related experience and training;

Advanced knowledge and/or experience in using Solid Edge / (Advanced Solid Works users could be also eligible if willing to switch to Solid Edge)

Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, drawings and job specifications;

Ability to operate necessary computer software;

Ability to communicate effectively with the coordinator;

Good knowledge of the English language

French language would be a plus;

Good communication skills;

About us

Canam Group Romania began in Brasov as a small detailing office in 1998 which afterwards became a major company on the Brasov market with its own building and more than 400 employees. In 2024, we expanded our presence in Romania by opening a second office in Cluj-Napoca.

While our teams provide 3D modeling, detailing and estimation services for the construction industry such as buildings, steel structures and bridges, we also provide various technical services for other industries as well. The main market is in North America, yet we are also expanding our services in other markets. 

We also have our own IT team developing software for internal use.
