**Chevron’s Business Support Center (BASSC), located in Buenos Aires, is accepting applications for the position of Solution architect. Successful candidates will join the IT Organization, which is part of a multifunction service and technical center with a workforce of more than 1800 employees that deliver business services and solutions to the corporation across the globe. The solution architect role involves designing and overseeing the implementation of home-grown and commercial-off-the-shelf IT solutions using Microsoft Azure and their integration with various systems and applications. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, evaluating technology options, and guiding development teams to deliver scalable, secure and efficient solutions.**

Your expertise will ensure our systems are robust, scalable, and aligned with the latest technological advancements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions within budget and time constraints.
**Role Objectives:**
+ Develop an understanding of Chevron’s existing infrastructure while actively searching for improvement areas.
+ Streamline workflows by implementing inventive technical solutions
+ Engage with stakeholders, updating them on IT development processes and costs.
+ Comply with standards and governance
+ Manage risks and decisions in a transparent way
+ Ensure the scope of solutions meets the organization’s requirements.
+ Evaluate existing and emerging technologies regularly
**Key Responsibilities**
+ **Application Portfolio Analysis** : Analyze Chevron’s application portfolio to identify modernization opportunities, enhancing performance, security, and scalability.
+ **Architectural Design** : Define and implement architectural solutions that align with Chevron’s strategic goals and technological roadmap. Recommend technologies to meet business needs.
+ **Collaboration** : Work with Project Managers, Product Owners, Technical Leads, Developers, and Platform Architects to ensure cohesive project execution and alignment with business objectives.
+ **Budget Management** : Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring modernization initiatives are delivered within financial constraints.
+ **Leadership and Support** : Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to development teams, fostering continuous improvement and innovation.
+ **Quality Assurance** : Ensure all modernization efforts adhere to Chevron’s quality standards and best practices through regular reviews and assessments.
+ **Stakeholder Communication** : Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and milestones.
+ **Development Standards & Team Enablement:** Establish and promote best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines across development teams. Provide hands-on support and technical mentorship to ensure consistent implementation, foster skill growth, and drive alignment with Chevron’s engineering principles.
**Required qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
+ 5+ years of experience in the same or a similar position.
+ Extensive experience in application modernization, distributed systems, cloud computing, and enterprise architecture.
+ Proficiency in modern architectural frameworks and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
+ Expertise in development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps)
+ Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
+ Advanced knowledge of C#, VB.NET, .NET Framework, MVC, RESTful APIs, UI frameworks like Angular or React library, GraphQL, gRPC, and Non-SQL and SQL Databases.
+ Experience with n-tier architecture, microservices architecture, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), event-driven systems, and domain-driven design (DDD).
+ Familiarity with architectural observability tools and techniques for monitoring and optimizing application performance
+ Ability to design and implement scalable, secure solutions tailored to business needs
+ Ability to propose and create solutions to propose possible solutions and alternatives to resolve technical issues
+ Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across diverse teams.
