Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Solution Architect to drive the architectural vision for products and serviced across our businesses.

You will play a pivotal role in crafting the technology strategy and ensuring the successful delivery of innovative software products and platforms that meet the evolving needs of our customers in the life sciences industries.

Solution Architecture Design

Craft solutions that align with business objectives and requirements

Collaborate with individuals involved in the project, such as clients, project managers, and developers, to implement efficient solutions.

Lead technical discussions and provide guidance to ensure successful implementation of solutions

Conduct detailed analysis of existing systems and infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and optimization

Work across the company to define Standards and Best Practices that support alignment in technical decisions and the delivery of products and solutions

Provide leadership and guidance to development teams during the implementation and delivery of solutions

Strategy and Governance

Contribute to the overall strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry trends

Collaborate with domain experts to establish and implement architectural standards, guidelines, and best-practices to ensure consistency, maintainability, and quality across software solutions

Participate in architectural governance processes, including design reviews, risk assessments, and forums

Ensure alignment to architectural principles, security standards, and performance requirements throughout the software development lifecycle
 

Emerging Technologies and Innovation

Learn and stay-up-to-date on new technologies, industry trends, and standard methodologies, cloud computing, and data management

Use your skill to evaluate and prototype new technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the organization

Communication & Engagement

Communicate technical concepts and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical team members, including business leaders, product managers, and customers

Facilitate architectural discussions, design reviews, and decision-making processes, ensuring alignment and agreement across teams

Develop and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, including solution definitions, diagrams, technical specifications and assessments

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience

Proven track record in software and solution architecture, design, and implementation, with a focus on enterprise-level solutions

Extensive knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best-practices

Good communication and social skills, with the ability to convey concepts to diverse audiences with diverse teams

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment

Hands-on experience with technologies such as microservices, cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Azure), data management, and security. Formal Cloud Solution Architect training and/or certification is a plus.

Experience in architecting and delivering solutions for scientific, life sciences, or related industries.
