Solution Architect Engineer – Data Analytics

Job Summary:

Altair is looking for a highly motivated and energetic Solutions Architect to join the Data Analytics Center of Excellence team.  We are looking for those with the ability to navigate and adapt in a fast-paced environment and help implement and integrate our new product into varied environments.  A candidate for this position should be comfortable working in both on-premise as well as cloud environments; however, of the two, cloud experience is preferred. You will regularly assist customers in navigating architecture, design, and implementation, while strategically aligning their technical roadmap to enhance the utilization of the Altair Data Analytics Solutions. 

What You Will Do:

·       Manage and deliver Data Analytics activities on time and budget ranging from installation through project management and delivery.

Coordinating technical discovery tasks with Internal and Client resources.Collecting and summarizing discovery information to produce solution proposal.Architecture Analysis of the existing service for the migration and build a similar architecture in Altair for a smooth transition.Triaging technical issues with Project/Delivery Manager and software engineers/solution/DB teams.Identify and test fixes from engineering team.Study and understand custom solutions of the clients and build a similar solution in Altair or use open-source technologies (R, Python) to achieve similar or better results.Ability to travel on a project basis to client locations .Delivery of technical SOW.

·       Identify and solve technical and/or software issues, define system architecture, and analyse and implement hardware/software specifications.

·       Implement, test, and provide guidance on solution deployments.

·       Gather and provide project cost estimates and prepare proposals and estimate the cost of Altair Data Analytics solution deliverables.

·       Provide discovery support during initial stages of sales cycle

·       Engage with internal sales and other customer-facing team members to ensure successful customer adoption of Altair products.

·       Excellent at troubleshooting product-related issues, fixing or requesting support to fix issues

·       Ramp up on multiple products/solutions in Altair’s suite and contribute to the completion of scheduled tasks within assigned technical engagements with minimal supervision

·       Contribute to technical trainings and support in multiple products and advanced topics

·       Gain a deeper understanding of Altair’s products and their applications and be able to work on proof of concepts and technical benchmarks

·       Helping our customers be successful with Altair Data Analytics products by answering questions, assisting with installations, troubleshooting issues and providing workarounds.

·       Identifying possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes appropriate action to resolve quickly.

·       Quickly develop a deep understanding of Altair Data Analytics products and dependent technologies.

 

 

 

What You Will Need:

Basics:

·    5+ years of experience in Project Management, defining system architecture, and analyzing and implementing hardware/software specifications.

·       3-5 years of experience dealing with SAS language code including Data step and Procedures

·       2+ years of experience in the field of Data Analytics

·       Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or related field

·       Ability to travel on a project basis to client locations

·       Good Linux system administrator skills and TCP/IP network fundamentals

·       Experience with Cloud Computing technologies like AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI and/or Docker/Kubernetes

·       Ability to produce clear, detailed project scoping and design documentation to be used by technical specialists to build appropriate solutions for Altair customers

·       Well versed in generic administration tasks of managing Docker images, container networking and standard infrastructure maintenance tasks on Docker and Kubernetes platform

·       Built and managed a container orchestration platform from the ground up

·       Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

·       Professional Services and client facing experience

 

Preferred:

·       Presales or solution consulting experience support sales and the sales process, especially financial services  

·       Real world experience in supporting financial risk modelling and regulatory reporting would be an asset 

·       Experience delivering SAS language-based data/statistics projects including knowledge of SAS Data Step code and other language of SAS procedures

 

 Language:

·       Fluent speaking level in French and professional level in English mandatory

·       Additional spoken language, specifically Spanish would be an asset.
