The Solution Architect Manager is a critical player-coach role, combining hands-on technical leadership with management responsibilities. This position is pivotal in guiding a team of Solution Architects while actively contributing to Origami's architectural vision and execution. As a player-coach, the manager will not only oversee but also actively participate in driving the convergence of technologies, enabling faster product launches across all markets. The Solution Architect Manager will be directly involved in establishing technology standards and roadmaps, promoting the use of exemplary patterns to accelerate development, and bridging the gap between technical execution and strategic planning. This person will leverage their deep technical expertise to mentor their team, standardize architectural practices, and communicate complex solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including upper management, while maintaining a strong hands-on presence in key projects and initiatives.
Starting base pay for this role is between $146,915 and $175,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, training, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will be eligible for a bonus as well as competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, wellness reimbursement, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match. Responsibilities Leads and mentor a team of Solutions Architects, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality deliverables.Responsible for daily performance management of team members, including performing team member review, evaluation, and compensation processes.Develops and maintains architectural standards, best practices, and guidelines for the organization.Actively participates in complex projects, providing hands-on architectural expertise and guidance.Manages multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions that address business challenges.Actively participates in and leads the modernization efforts.Leads by example in the development and delivery of training materials, workshops, and mentoring sessions to upskill the engineering teams.Takes a hands-on role in leading optimization efforts to enhance system performance, scalability, and maintainability across all markets.Communicates project statuses, risks, and strategic initiatives to upper management and key stakeholders.Stays abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the organization.Drives the creation and execution of the company's technical roadmap in alignment with business goals.Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, partners, and vendors.Contributes to pre-sales activities, including proposal development and technical presentations.Other duties as assignedQualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 7 years of experience in solution architecture, with at least 3 years in a leadership roleProven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex IT projects across multiple markets.Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and their practical application.Expertise in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern software development practices.Strong knowledge of system integration, API design, microservices architecture, and convergence strategies.Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and guide a team of Associate Solution Architects.Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.Experience in Agile methodologies and project management across multiple teams and markets.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices.Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements across different markets (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).Experience in multiple industry verticals, demonstrating the ability to apply architectural principles across diverse domains.
