Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and experiencedSolution Architect R&Dto join our team. As an R&D Architect within the Permobil IT organization, you will play a pivotal role in bridging research and development needs with innovative IT solutions. You will proactively study business requirements, define long-term strategic goals, and create short-term tactical plans to optimize and consolidate R&D applications, shaping a future-ready architecture. Leveraging your expertise in PDM/PLM systems, you will support the development of Permobil’s R&D target architecture, ensuring it aligns with the organization’s overall strategy. Your responsibilities will include researching and evaluating potential solutions – ranging from off-the-shelf products to in-house developments or outsourced options – and collaborating with business owners to select the optimal approach. You will clearly document chosen solutions and produce detailed functional specifications, enabling seamless implementation by development teams or external partners. With a dual focus on R&D and IT, this role is critical to driving technological advancements that enhance business efficiency and innovation. Key Responsibilities: + Stay informed on industry trends to adopt best practices, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness, + Identify and address gaps in current solutions, proposing strategies to bridge them, + Guide projects with solution design decisions, assessing impacts, costs, and dependencies with business priorities, + Collaborate as part of the Permobil Architecture team to align solutions with target architecture and enterprise frameworks, + Ensure compliance with EA standards, including quality, security, and performance, + Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers, + Contribute to R&D-related projects and daily operations through incident and change management, + Oversee supplier contracts, ensuring alignment with business needs and adherence to commitments, + Collaborate on software validation processes with stakeholders and compliance teams. Qualifications & Skills: + University degree in IT, engineering or related discipline, + 2 or more years of working experience in a similar role, + Well spoken and written English, + Good knowledge of the business processes and system capabilities within the R&D area, especially around CAD, PDM and PLM systems, + Good knowledge of system development methods and standards.
