Responsibilities Make an impact The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing a team that performs both conceptual and detailed design in consultancy assignments and project sales. Additionally, he/she will actively participate in complex projects across SEA by providing technical sales support to the sales team, assisting in the promotion and sale of our solutions to customers. He/She shall ensure the design process is carried out according to Swisslog design process. He/She will lead the system design team be responsible fro resource planning, administration of daily operation and monitoring of work progress. He shall ensure the optimum utilisation of the resources. Leadership • To lead, motivate, and manage a team a team of solution design members to ensure the achievement of company goals and objectives. • Manage the allocation of resources to ensure projects are completed efficiently. • Oversee multiple projects, ensuring that team members are meeting deadlines and objectives Solution Design, Consulting & Sales Support • Provide technical sales support to the Sales teams during the entire sales cycle, which include solutions and technical presentation, conducting design workshops as well as the responsibility of technical specifications. • Investigate and review customer’s requirements. • Develop possible solutions based on defined customer requirements / design parameters. • Design and propose suitable sub-systems based on detailed equipments performance calculation. • Analysing the sub-system of the suppliers incl. the functionalities and the according scope of supply. • Prepare technical descriptions of proposed system for tender submission, as well as functional descriptions. • Prepare presentation (PowerPoint) and present the proposed solutions to the customer in workshop or meeting. • Conduct presentations to potential clients and be able to promote the strength of our services and applications and how they meet their requirements. • Actively support the Sales Manager, technically, during sales and tender clarification phases. He shall take a key role to convince the customer to buy the proposed system. • Advisor on internal system and sub system designs. Innovation & optimizations • Push innovation (develop ideas, processes, solutions, business opportunities, components etc). • Evaluate new products and technology and determine how it will fit into overall solutions and market strategy. Application Requirements What you need to succeed • Bachelor degree in Mechanical / Electronics / Mechatronics / System Engineering or relevant recognized technical qualification. • Minimum of 7 years in consulting and system design in material handling industry, with experience covering complex to semi complex integrated projects related to material handling, production lines, and assembly lines projects. • Able to conceptualize solutions and articulate concept and proposed solutions to customers. • Self-starter with strong capability to interact and work in a cross-functional and multinational environment. • Strong technical background and the ability to be fully conversant with the technologies in the industry. • Good presentation and communication skills, both spoken and written English. • Strong Microsoft Office applications skills with good working knowledge of 2D/3D CAD layout. • Innovative and creative – able to “think on ones feet”. • Open minded in assessing and solving technical and business related issues (able to “think outside the box”). • Customer needs orientation. • Proactive, innovative and creative – being unafraid of change. • Able to travel both domestically and overseas for business meetings, even on short notice.
