The Role\: Solution Engineer – Solution Engineering Department, Secure Power Japan
We are looking for a Solution Engineer to handle Secure Power Solution in Japan. Main activities of this role are to provide technical support of our Physical Infrastructure Solutions for prospective clients, related vendors, and Schneider partners in the pre-sales stage. The Solution Engineer actively participates in customer projects to ​provide suitable Schneider solutions to clients and assist them from a technical aspect.
What will you do?
· Provide technical sales assistance to Account Managers including site visits, understanding customer requirements, and adjusting or proposing system specifications. Primarily focus activities on our UPS, Cooling, Rack, Management products for Datacenter space.
· Identify customer requirements and provide technical support, including proposals and designs in the pre-sales stages.
· Deliver Schneider products / solutions and concept presentations to prospective clients, related vendors, and Schneider partners.
· Participate in sales or internal business-related activities as technical expert.
Who would be successful?
· Education Level\: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Electrical/Mechanical Engineering an advantage)
· Certification and some technical training covering Power Supply Systems, Generator Systems, UPS Systems, Chiller Systems, Fire Protection Systems etc., would be an added advantage.
· At least 5-7 years electrical and/or cooling-related engineering experience with both hands-on and supervisory levels. Construction and/ or Operation & Maintenance experience in data center or server room fields would be an added advantage.
· Knowledge of some local installation standards and Authorities Requirement. Certification of 1st Class Construction Managing Engineers in Japan (Electrical / Plumbing work) would be an added advantage.
· Comprehensive and In-depth understanding of customer’s Physical Infrastructure, Cooling and associated needs and issues of customers operating in a multi-location environment.
· Proven skills in Physical Infrastructure Best Practice Solution, including Services and developing value propositions.
· Strong communicator – both written and verbal in technical and non-technical environment.
· Native Japanese and Business English skills.
· Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrates effective time management skills.
· Positive Mindset. Excellent business ethics and integrity.
· Demonstrates flexibility in operational style to meet the requirements or multi-culture position.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office.
· Able to use and have basic skill in Visio and/or AutoCad and web based applications.
