Reports to: Senior Solution Lead
Join Cathay as a Solution Lead in our Business Intelligence Competency Centre (BICC) Solution Centre. You will provide subject-matter technical competence in designing, implementing, maintaining, and administrating the data blending, data analytics and visualization applications. You will also be responsible for defining solutions to bridge gaps and ensuring the project scope is maintained, and solutions implemented in line with design.

Capture and communicate business direction, challenges and requirementsAnalyze commercially and technically viable ideas to improve the business performanceDesign and build detail design and implementation of data blending, analytics and visualization tools for corporate useBuild best practices for usage of data visualization tools and techniques; as well as for data presentation and sharing across multiple departmentsGovern the data visualization standards and usage are being maintained and implementedSupport business stakeholder adoption of insights-driven decision making and analytics-enabled business process innovationDevelop new approaches to improve overall system design and/or streamline delivery of product/systemFocus on multiple medium to large scale initiatives. Initiate, define, plan and execute tasks / initiatives and then manage the day-to-day activities of the software development team and external 3rd parties as requiredTest all solution aspects including but not limited to security, performance, integration. Identify areas of risk and prepare strategies for mitigation for the projectsMentor Solution Analysts on any aspect of their role, contribute to team resource planning and Manage external 3rd parties as requiredRequirements
Degree qualification in Information Technology related discipline, Masters preferred 8+ years of related IT experience covering but not limited to:Software developmentSystem analysisBusiness analysisSolution definitionSystem TestingAt least 5+ years of experience in leading the implementation of data analytics and visualization tools and technologies with experience in agile development processes and data-driven developmentTechnically strong in BI Development technologies and approaches, capable in articulate advantages and disadvantages of different technical approachesExperience in data blending, data analytics and visualization tools, preferably Alteryx, QlikView, QlikSense, Cognos, PowerBIProven experience in applying Software Engineering best practices and techniques such as structured analysis, use cases and formal estimation Experience managing a software development teamExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativityProven troubleshooting skills; ability to identify patterns and generate ideasExperience with utilization of outsourced and/or globally distributed resourcesPersonal & Application Information
