As a 2025 addition to the 120- year journey of Badger Meter to measure and manage the world’s most precious resource – water - SmartCover is a pioneering technology brand serving the water and wastewater industry. Job Description
The Solutions Consultant is responsible for providing technical and commercial support for existing accounts with the end result of achieving high customer retention, cross-selling of additional product offerings and growing business within the accounts. The Solution Consultant will provide remote and in person troubleshooting of customer hardware and software systems.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Performs remote and onsite troubleshooting techniques and analysis of lift station product line equipment and systems
Leads classroom and field training which will involve travelling to customer sites in the Southeast USA
Maintains and develops relationships with end user customers within wastewater agencies
Completes periodic technical reviews of client system performance and overall quality
Contributes to business cases, proposals, presentations and other materials necessary to maintain and grow accounts.
Develops and maintains rigorous standards for sales documentation, customer information and reporting
Develops case studies and presentation of papers at local and national conferences with clients, as appropriate.
Works in compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation including, but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and SmartCover Policies, Procedures and Code of Conduct

Education and Experience:
2-5 years of relevant experience in electrical controls or related fields in customer facing roles with a water, wastewater or smart water technology company. Preference will be given to candidates with Municipal collection systems and/or smart water monitoring solutions experience.
Knowledge of RF communication, electrical wiring, computer use and interface, exposure to network systems, use of job-related test equipment and software applications, cybersecurity best practices, telephone support, database entry, and problem identification/resolution. Knowledge in PLC control systems and control logic is a plus.
Demonstrated capability to establish, develop and maintain relationships at all levels within a customer organization
Extremely strong written/verbal communications and interpersonal skills. Must be an active listener and influencer in the relationship development process.
Must be comfortable and effective with “hands on” applications development, including field work, data analysis, interpretation and report writing.
Demonstrated effective ability to succeed in a cross functional “team” selling environment
Must maintain a high level of integrity, maturity and competitive drive to be successful.
Ability to travel extensively within the region to support new business development and support existing customers.
Physically flexible and mobile with ability to remove and replace a manhole cover, safely climb ladders or negotiate other terrain or field obstacles and provide basic mechanical field support.
CRM (Salesforce preferred) and MS Office proficiency
