Are you passionate about mobile apps? As a Solutions Engineer for Content Apps and Partner Engagement (CAPE) team, you will develop world class technical solutions to enable app developers, distribute their apps and games within the Amazon Appstore. You will work with third party developers to analyze and resolve issues with application development for general Android, Amazon mobile SDKs and APIs, and Amazon Fire devices. You will liaison between external developers and internal teams via various communication channels to drive solutions that meet developer needs. If you are passionate for app space, a solid understanding of the technologies involved, and strong communication skills, this role is for you.
Key job responsibilities
- Provide engineering support troubleshooting and debugging partner issues covering multiple product lines
- Coordinate with multiple internal product and engineering teams through troubleshooting/deep dives, handing-off or taking over support on issues.
- Developing internal/external documentation (knowledge base articles, runbooks) to support developers
- Act as a subject matter expert for Amazon mobile APIs and Services, and Amazon Devices
- Work on maintenance of coding projects, primarily in Perl or shell scripts, web technologies, and Java based projects.
- Read and understand complex application code and make code fixes to resolve support issues
- Develop tools to aid operations and maintenance.
- Customer notification and workflow co-ordination and follow-up to maintain service level agreements.
A day in the life
As a Solutions Engineer, a day in life for you will consist of: 1) driving in-field or launch related app issues to closure working with external app partners and internal product teams, 2) supporting development and launch of app updates, or new features for app partners, and 3) looking for opportunities and driving operational excellence initiatives to improve metrics/process/reporting around partner support.
About the team
The Content & App Partner Engagement (CAPE) team manages the global portfolio of 3P app and game developers that distribute content on Amazon devices with screens (Fire TV, FTV Edition, FTV Auto, Fire tablets, and Echo Show). CAPE acts as the 'voice of the developer' for internal Amazon teams and owns developer-facing marketing and documentation.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 4+ years of technical support experience
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of software development with object oriented language experience
- Proven track record in working on enterprise level large scale n-tier applications
- Development Experience in C/Java or open source based technologies. Understanding of XML/SOAP, web services, web application development, and industry-standard commerce systems.
- Demonstrated experience in Perl or shell scripts, a sound understanding of web technologies.
- Detailed knowledge of the UNIX/Linux operating system and tools
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues in complex Enterprise Level applications.
- Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence.
