You will be actively responsible for actively driving and handling the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and advocate for our products and services. As a valued Splunk Solution Engineer (SE), you will also be able to answer technical inquiries from customers regarding Splunk technology, features, solutions, applications as well as articulate Splunk technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. Highly desirable attributes: 

Practical experience with Federal Acquisition processes (RFC, RFI, RFP, etc.)Practical experience reviewing and drafting responses to Federal requests for comment, requests for information, requests for proposals, et cetera is helpfulPassionate about crafting client-ready presentations, whitepapers, discussion documents, and RFP responses that are appropriately scoped, technically accurate, as well as structurally and grammatically preciseValidated experience communicating the business value of a technical solution via executive-level briefings to CIO, CISO, CIO, technical partners, etc.Committed to delivering software or other technical demonstrations to both technical and non-technical staff -- experience doing so with Splunk is highly desirableExperience administering both Linux or Windows systems - Linux expertise is also helpfulExperience coding / scripting to automate common tasks (Python, bash, Ruby, etc.)Prior technical sales / technical services experience 3+ yearsSplunk experience is required

Note: 

OTE Pay Ranges 

For sales roles the ranges are expressed as On Target Earning or OTE (OTE = base + incentives in the form of sales incentive plans). 

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area 

On Target Earnings: $164,000.00 - 225,500.00 per year 

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), New York (excludes NYC Metro Area), and all other states. 

On Target Earnings: $156,000.00 - 214,500.00 per year 

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the On Target Earnings (OTE) range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the OTE pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to OTE, this role may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
