Description
A.T. Still University's School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) is seeking a full-time exempt Director of the Student Achievement Team on the Mesa, Arizona campus. The Director of the Student Achievement Success Team is responsible for student support and delivery of SOMA-specific student services, academic advising support, and career advising to all ATSU-SOMA students. The Director oversees the staff and programs of the Student Achievement Success Team.
**Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Oversee a 4-year academic support and advising program for ATSU-SOMA students, from pre-matriculation through graduation.
+ Oversee a 4-year career counseling and advising program for ATSU-SOMA students, from pre-matriculation through graduation.
+ Proactively track and provide tailored support for students who require additional academic support and ensure that they receive the necessary tools and guidance to enhance their academic performance and increase their likelihood of success at ATSU-SOMA.
+ Counsel students needing improvement in academic or professional performance.
+ Participate in the development and delivery of DEI-based support and curriculum for ATSU-SOMA students, faculty, and staff.
+ Oversee the information and resources developed by the Student Achievement Success Team including, but not limited to: ATSU - SOMAGo app, SAS Website, ProgressIQ for student support and advising, Advisor Handbook, and Board preparation materials.
+ Oversee and participate in the production and updating of the MSPE for graduating students.
+ Oversee and track the Directed Studies course in conjunction with the Associate Dean of Student Academic Affairs.
+ Participate in Professional Development on campus and through national conferences as applicable to the work of the SAS team.
+ Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Student Academic Affairs.
Requirements
+ Master or Doctoral degree, Student Support Services; Student Counseling; Education; or related fields.
+ Advanced proficiency with the utilization of Microsoft Office/Excel/Google Sheets, Emailing, PPTs presentation.
+ Proficient and humanistic communication skills, and public speaking.
+ 3-5 years related experience.
+ Broad knowledge and experience in student counseling services.
+ Broad knowledge and experience in MSPE, residency Match program.
+ The successful applicant will have demonstrated success in promoting a culturally rich environment that values and appreciates diversity.
+ The applicant should have a common understanding of bias, what it means to be culturally proficient, and demonstrate success at mitigating differences.
+ The applicant should have familiarity with the principles and practice of osteopathic medicine.
