Sonographer I (FT- 0.9 FTE, Variable Shift)

Position Summary:
The Acute Care Sonographer I provides ultrasound (US) health care services to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs US procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Primarily works independently in a highly complex, acute care inpatient setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required
+ American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in OB/GYN or abdominal/small parts or is registry eligible and obtains certification within one year of date of hire
+ Graduate from an accredited ultrasound school
+ American Heart Association BLS within three (3) months of hire
Preferred
+ One (1) year of post-graduation experience working in ultrasound
Essential Job Functions:
In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.
+ Perform US exams and procedures in an inpatient setting.
+ Assist the Radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures.
+ Complete documentation, in designated area, of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
+ Perform ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures.
+ Retrieve and review previous studies, reports, written orders, and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of US exams and procedures.
+ Participate in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the organization's quality indicators as described in the strategic plan.

Schedule Requirements
+ This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
+ The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
+ On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
