**Core Responsibilities**
In this role as a Design Manager (Sound Design Lead), you help bring interactive products to market by guiding teams to provide energetic and viable connected experiences! You will be a key driver of the design process, a lead voice in developing interactive audio experiences, and a crucial facilitator in a small yet team with varied strengths. Moreover, you will:
+ Help to drive projects, processes, and own the entire design life cycle from conceptualisation to market launch, coordinating with multiple teams while ensuring adherence to deliveries and achievements
+ Translate design briefs and strategic choices/vision into understandable objectives and actions within own area, and collaborate with project and department leadership to guide both internal and external members to achieve project goals
+ Clearly communicate the design vision, direction, and process while showing strength in both Sound Design and Project Management. Provide valuable support and feedback to colleagues to ensure high-quality deliveries, aligning initiatives and prioritising tasks.
+ Support strong and effective partnerships across the product development cycle; present projects and prototypes to partners in eloquent and compelling ways
+ Identify critical risks and fundamental roadblocks during the development process, and assist in developing vital action plans to tackle obstacles hindering project success
+ Advocate Sound Design from both a creative and technical standpoint, providing critical and precise analysis and documentation to support brave, abstract and innovative concepts
**Play your part in our team succeeding**
You will join the Sound Design Team in Billund, Denmark. We are a cross-functional subset of Interaction Design, working in a coordinated manner across our portfolio of projects including digital/physical products. We are part of the novelty projects, and are working closely together with model designers, marketers, app developers and more to drive and support interactive play innovation for both new product experiences in development, and for existing products already live in the market.
An innovative and curious mentality is required to push the boundaries on how much new play we can bring to kids globally and how we are bringing longevity in play to kids worldwide.
**Do you have what it takes?**
To excel in this role, you should be collaborative, enjoy working with cross-functional teams, and possess strong communication and motivational skills. Precision in technical documentation and a daring spirit for innovation are important. You should have proven experience in Sound Design and Audio Engineering, with a focus on synthesis and procedural systems. A strong portfolio showcasing successful physical and digital products, where you led sound design from start to finish, is required. Experience in developing connected products, services, toys, or video games, and iterating audio system design is important. You should be able to encourage and align designers and stakeholders through compelling demonstrations and collaborations. Expertise in designing and prototyping play experiences using both digital and physical means is vital, along with project management experience in a technical environment and familiarity with tools like Confluence and JIRA. Proficiency in industry-standard mixing and mastering, as well as English, is also required.
Additional skills that would be beneficial include experience with screen-free interactivity and audio for embedded hardware. An interest in psychoacoustics, early childhood education, research, and communications is advantageous. Experience in sonic branding or UX design, along with a passion for creating magnificent experiences for kids and a love for play, would further enhance your fit for this position
