THE JOB:
Join the team at New York-New York as a Sound and Video Tech, where you’ll be at the heart of delivering unforgettable audio and visual experiences! In this dynamic role, you’ll ensure flawless system performance by conducting routine checks, tackling troubleshooting challenges, and leading complex installations and upgrades. Your expertise will directly contribute to creating an extraordinary atmosphere, helping to craft WOW moments for our guests and staff that they'll remember long after their visit. THE STARTING RATE: $34.80 an hour
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
System Monitoring: Conduct property tours to verify that all A/V systems, networks, and equipment are functioning correctly.
Quality Control: Test and ensure proper operation of audio-visual systems, in-room networks, IP addresses, and VLAN configurations.
In-Room Support: Respond to service requests, including troubleshooting in-room sound, video, and network systems or making room visits when needed.
Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on A/V equipment, network components, and system configurations to ensure reliable performance.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues in A/V systems, including network-related problems such as IP conflicts or VLAN connectivity issues.
Equipment Repairs: Repair and maintain electronic systems, including audio, video, sound, projection, and network infrastructure.
System Upgrades: Assist with installing and upgrading advanced A/V systems, including automated controls, distribution systems, LED displays, and network integrations.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of service activities, daily work logs, and network/IP configurations to ensure accurate system documentation.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Age: Must be 21 years of age or older.
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience in the audio/visual (A/V) field.
Availability: Available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Technical Expertise: Proficient in digital, analog, audio/video processing systems, fiber optics, A/V signal distribution (MATV, CATV, DMX, DSS), and troubleshooting related systems.
Certifications & Control Systems: Crestron Certification with hands-on experience in control systems like Dante, 70V, and Crestron, as well as networking skills including IP addressing and VLANs.
A/V Systems & Equipment: Experience with large and small screen projection systems, video walls, kiosks, and audio system design/installation (London Architect, Audio Architect, etc.).
Customer Service & Communication: Strong customer service skills and effective communication with stakeholders in both written and verbal forms.
