Sourcing Analyst
**DESCRIPTION** We are looking for a talented Sourcing Analyst to join our team specializing in Purchasing for Cummins, Inc. in Troy, MI. **In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:** + **Procurement** : Procure inventory, supplies, and capital goods, and place purchase orders with vendors. + **Analysis** : Analyze sourcing and procurement initiatives to support the delivery of cost-effective and high-quality goods and services. + **Value Capture** : Support the preparation of Value Capture Summaries at month and quarter ends and conduct minor contract negotiations. + **Improvement Recommendations** : Prepare and present recommendations for improvement opportunities and alternative courses of action to senior procurement/sourcing leaders. + **Support Management** : Assist procurement/sourcing management with activities such as price benchmarking, vendor management, process analysis, market and industry research, and model building. + **Compliance Management** : Manage the loading and retrieving of legal and compliance documents into applicable storage systems to support regulatory, audit, and research activities. + **Supplier Interaction** : Interact with suppliers regarding payments and order fulfillment, consistently applying sourcing policies, procedures, and processes. + **Low Complexity Sourcing** : Procure services and goods, manage Ariba IACs (Invoice Against Contracts), and handle low complexity/risk sourcing work and contract development under supervision. **RESPONSIBILITIES** **To be successful in this role you will need the following:** + Cost and Value Management - Gain proficiency in tools used for cost management and tracking. This will help you deliver products and services at competitive prices.Utilize the Total Cost Opportunity (TCO) model to ensure competitiveness while maintaining desired margins. + Procurement Policies, Procedures, Tools - Familiarize yourself with all relevant procurement policies and procedures. Ensure compliance in your daily work. Learn to use all necessary tools for procurement tasks. Know how to access and navigate the Document Management System (DMS) for any needed documents or clarifications. + Procurement Systems - Understand the connections between various systems like purchasing orders, payments, engineering releases, and quality systems.Develop skills to identify and resolve data issues. Write ad-hoc reports and document workflows.Engage actively in the implementation of new purchasing systems, including requirements gathering, design, communication, and training. + Sourcing - Use the purchasing functional system to support the Request For Quote process.Establish a Total Cost of Ownership comparison of suppliers based on the category strategy. Identify the supplier that best meets Cummins and customer needs. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Education/Experience** + College, university, or equivalent degree in field appropriate for the function required or equivalent experience required. + This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. **Additional Responsibilities:** + **This is a hybrid role which requires candidate to be in office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) at the CDBS building in Troy, Michigan.** + The buyer for this role will be responsible for small castings and fabricated axle housings. + This role has approximately $50M worth of annual spend to manage. + Looking for candidate with some purchasing experience (internship experience is acceptable). + Ideal candidate has a Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or Engineering. **Compensation** Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range.
