Summary

The Sourcing Manager will support the Sr. Sourcing Manager to execute on our critical product and service sourcing strategy, including managing vendor contracts and costs for our critical materials, developing cost estimates based on forecasted volumes, and collaborating closely with the Operations and Commercial teams to bring new items to life and ensure operational efficiency is balanced with cost-saving opportunities.   


Position is primarily remote but will require occasional on-site visits to Richmond Brewery. 


Responsibilities

 

Sourcing 

Support material buyer planners and Purchasing Manager as needed to address vendor issues or deficiencies. Ensure contracting addresses necessary ingredients or packaging.  (Examples for packaging are Cans / Paperboard / Corrugate and kegs and examples for ingredients are hops / malt / syrups etc.) Ensure direct material contracting is aligned with organizational needs and regular meetings are held to review performance and opportunities. Interact with the operations managers and logistics team to ensure accurate forecasting of material usage and consistent supply. Report on usage vs. contract commitments or forecast for all critical materials, in addition assist in determining future contract quantities and cost saving opportunities. Ensure we are following all aspects of Supply Agreements pertaining to timeliness of forecasts, purchase orders, pricing, and contractual minimums.   

Communications and Reporting 

Align with Purchasing Manager on purchasing trends and adherence to forecasted quantities. Provide regular and effective communication updates regarding new item development and timing. Support in developing and monitoring spend by category and reporting on adherence to budget. Interface with IT, Project Management Office, and subject matter experts on enhancements and/or integrations of systems and technical business processes Support continuous improvement projects and initiatives as it relates to service, cost & inventory. 

Supplier Management 

Address vendors to ensure purchased materials are delivered on schedule, invoiced properly, and meet quality standards.  Develop and lead critical material supplier evaluation process.  Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operational Management, Finance, Computer Science or Engineering   Experience: 5+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably at a Food, Beverage, or CPG company; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong sense of urgency with ability to prioritize effectively and drive for results in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Computer Skills: Computer literacy and experience with internet, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills and Power BI. Language Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.
