Job Description:Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent years of related work experienceWork Experiences:
2+ years of Sourcing, Product Development, Buying, Planning or Production Management experience1+ Sourcing project managementSkills:
Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levelsAdvanced organizational skills required to mitigate risk and meet multiple deadlines in frequently changing environmentKnowledge of impact cost modelingAbility to analyze, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts to make effective business decisionsResponds positively to change, embracing and using new practices or values to accomplish goals and solve problemsAbility to develop and execute strategic category goalsLead with integrity and able to propel a team toward the completion of goalsStrong understanding of product lifecycle and production management; ability to execute seasonal development of vendor matrix, country of origin assessment and sourcing strategyAdvanced knowledge of Import logistics, Customs and Factory ComplianceUnderstanding of Quality AssuranceAbility to measure Key Performance Indicators, analyze results, formulate and implement corrective action plansProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel and Power Point skills preferredResponsibilities:
Negotiate pricing with suppliers using fact based approach and market insights driven from cost modeling, commodity impacts and competition to achieve financial benefits.Identify new suppliers and develop suppliers that achieve Category sourcing strategy and adhere to Academy's ethical standardsSupplier Management and managing the interactions with the organizations that supply the goods and services to Academy including relationship building, data review and analysis, performance management and development and improvement. Document supplier profile; analyze and recommend necessary changes to supplier baseIncrease technical knowledge of assigned product categories to: improve timelines, mitigate sourcing risks and reduce costs by identifying production run opportunities, reengineering of products and supplier consolidationResponsible for the Import PO placement process. Execute aggregate buys across categories using nominated suppliers to drive cost efficiencies and standardization across multiple categoriesDrive the timely completion of key milestones necessary for downstream and upstream partners and identify risks that may affect timelines and lead efforts to mitigate risksAccountable for achieving On-Time shipment and Delivery of assigned Import Category to drive sales and increase Private Brand market shareWork with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timelinessCollaborate with Suppliers, Merchants and other stakeholders to maintain OTB accuracyAnalyze KPI's and develop corrective action plans to achieve strategic goalsManage Purchase Order shift requests to assist on the achievement of category sales plans, inventory and turn goalsPrepare and conduct presentations to management and vendorsLead cross functional meetings as requiredSupport supplier/factory set ups. Leads supplier on-boarding and training process for assigned category.Assist in the documentation of Standard Operating ProceduresDevelop a thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures and safety rulesDuties may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements & Attendance:
