Kemper is seeking a Sourcing Manager to join our growing corporate procurement area. Take part in developing the enterprise programs related to procurement initiatives, vendors and strategic sourcing projects to drive overall Procurement savings strategy and vendor management for all categories. Work as part of a team managing, organizing, planning and delivering projects and/or programs to effectively develop and manage Categories which include Professional Services and other categories. The role includes significant interfaces and engagement with Senior Management.
Responsibilities
The category manager will focus on planning for and executing a model to capture, manage and control spend reductions as a result of procurement activities that improve company spend performance for key investments, existing and new.Lead contract management activity for your category, which includes contract review, negotiation, renewals, and execution of agreements.Ensure savings on spend decisions resulting from Procurement initiatives.Provide analytics to enable comprehensive and informed purchase decisions.Assist with the development and management of governance strategies to sustain savings improvements over the life of supplier relationships.Subcategory spend analysis, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, performance management, renewal and optimization management and Procurement consulting and support for leaders and their initiatives. Provide strategic sourcing services, initiate RFPs, contract negotiations, contract renewals, supply consolidation and project support.Administrate enterprise engagements.Prepare and manage annual category, subcategory and supplier level investments for products and services for reporting and inputs into budgeting and strategic planning processRespond to business inquires on spend analytics by product, business unit, supplier, geography, category, subcategory, etc.Centrally manage vendor and internal audit obligations.Monitor and manage metrics associated with primary suppliers and their committed services levelsManage quick hit procurement projects for contract renewals, contract rationalizations, business improvement, amendments, addendums and service modification requirements with the potential of expansion into broader strategic procurement and strategic sourcing effortsCollaborate with key stakeholders to develop strategies.Qualifications
4-year college degree with a Master’s in business, supply chain (or appropriate professional experience)Minimum 5-7 years’ experience within procurementSourcing experience in multiple spend categoriesMicrosoft suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, including proficiency in data management and warehousingFamiliarity using E-Sourcing tools.Strong skills in quantitative and problem-solving skills as well as project managementWorking knowledge of asset optimization planning and integration of acquired offices including asset valuation and scenario planning for buy, transfer and termination plansFamiliarity with procurement best practices in corporate cost savings programs and process modelsFamiliarity with insurance brokerage industry a plus (or proficiency in a services industry)Exceptional verbal and written communications skillsStrong teamwork focus and demonstrated ability to work with decentralized organizationsPracticed in change management skills in a dynamically changing business environmentAbility to build and manage relationship across the organizationAbility to influence multiple stakeholders with broad and varied business objectivesThis is a hybrid role with 4 days in the office.The range for this position is $86,200 to $143,600. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
