Role Summary:
The Sourcing Specialist position in Cookeville, TN, focuses on securing vendors for flow control product-related isolation valve projects. This role involves managing the comprehensive Request For Quote/Request For Proposal process to pinpoint and engage the most fitting suppliers. Responsibilities include organizing sourcing events as needed by sites or business units, following established procurement protocols. The ideal candidate will excel in evaluating potential suppliers, considering factors such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, aligned with our global category strategy for flow control products.
Responsibilities:
Orchestrate timely sourcing events per system workflows for Sites/BU's.
Negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal value, balancing Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Finalize contracts like Price Lists or Teaming Agreements, ensuring proper ERP integration.
Align with Global Category Management's sourcing strategy, prioritizing Partner & Preferred suppliers.
Initiate and expedite new supplier requests or changes via the MDG-Supplier process.
Identify and report supply/supplier risks relevant to the scope.
Assist Commercial Operations with supply chain quotes for tender activities.
Uphold all Flowserve Policies & Procedures.
Strive for cost reduction, adhere to Sourcing Guides, commercial terms, and HSE metrics.
Requirements:
HS Diploma and relevant Associates degree or certifications
3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain
Strong interpersonal relationship management
Evidenced understanding of both commercial and technical areas of supply chain
Very strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
Proficiency in Project Management
Understanding of market dynamics
Strong analytical skills which involves collecting, analyzing and interpreting data
Geographically mobile for development opportunities
Expertise with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of applicable ERPs and associated tools i.e. SAP and sourcing tools like Ariba
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Previous manufacturing experience in flow control industry
Castings and Forgings Experience
Certified Supply Chain Professional
