Sourcing Specialist (Hybrid)

Job Description
A gas turbine company in San Diego is looking for a Sourcing Specialist to join their team. The Sourcing Specialist will execute sourcing activities to ensure reliable supply sources for impellers and various related commodities, supporting the manufacture and overhaul of turbomachinery. This role focuses on performance excellence in cost, quality, velocity, and supply resiliency.
Key Responsibilities:
-Sourcing Execution & Management: Develop and implement sourcing strategies, oversee supplier discovery, evaluation, selection, and onboarding.
-Supplier Management: Build and manage relationships with suppliers, enhancing performance and development processes.
-Supply Chain Management: Monitor market trends and execute risk mitigation strategies to prevent supply chain disruptions.
-Contract Management: Lead discussions on complex agreements and implement initiatives to improve contract performance.
-Negotiation: Guide negotiation strategies and resolve issues.
-Cost Management: Develop strategies to assess demand and leverage material availability to reduce Total Cost of Ownership.

Skills and Requirements
-Master's Degree with minimum of 5 years of experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
-Strong sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment
-Experience with ERP software and proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio) -Master's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or other related field.
-Supply Chain Certification from a professional institution (i.e. APICS, IIPMR, ISCEA, ISM, etc.)
* Understanding and demonstration of 6-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
-6-Sigma Blackbelt Certification
- Experience with impellers, propellers, or similar commodities null
