Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Victor, United States. As the second-in-command in our kitchen, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality, kitchen efficiency, and team collaboration.

Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff managementPrepare meals from standardized recipes, ensuring timely and attractive presentationCoordinate food preparation and set up service lines and workstationsAssist in menu planning, food ordering, and inventory managementTrain and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environmentEnsure compliance with food safety regulations and health codesParticipate in pre-meal meetings with food servers to review daily menu detailsMaintain kitchen cleanliness and organize stock rooms, coolers, and freezersImplement food waste reduction techniques and proper food storage practicesContribute to menu innovation and cost control initiatives$24 - $26 hour

QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment, preferably in a leadership roleCulinary degree or related certificate from a recognized college or technical schoolCurrent ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety certificationStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent communication abilities, both verbal and writtenAdvanced knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and culinary trendsProven ability to maintain high standards of food quality and presentationExpertise in menu planning, cost control, and inventory managementThorough understanding of food service techniques and health department requirementsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentCreative approach to culinary arts and menu developmentStrong organizational skills and attention to detailFlexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
