Hourly Pay Rate Range for this role is $24hr. -  $27hr.

 

Sodexo’s Campus Segment is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our team at The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ. This late-night position will involve overseeing kitchen operations for a diverse dining unit open from 5 PM to 1 AM, seven days a week. The unit features a Mexican concept, grill, pizza, deli, mac and cheese station, salad bar, dessert station, vending machines, and a mini c-store. Additionally, the unit is responsible for producing all grab-and-go packaged food for the campus, which is delivered to other locations by a driver. As Sous Chef, you will work closely with two other Sous Chefs and three front-of-house supervisors to ensure smooth operations, maintain food quality, and lead the team effectively.

What You'll Do Assist the Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient service and smooth workflow during late-night hours.Lead and support a team of kitchen staff, including mentoring and training to ensure optimal performance.Oversee food preparation and cooking for multiple stations, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies, ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently with minimal waste.Ensure adherence to all food safety and sanitation standards.Contribute to menu development and recipe creation, keeping the offerings fresh and appealing to customers.Work with front-of-house supervisors to ensure a seamless customer experience.Oversee production of grab-and-go packaged foods and ensure timely deliveries to other campus locations.Manage kitchen operations during peak periods, adjusting workflow and delegating tasks as necessary.Assist with catering, special events, and any additional food service needs.
