The **Assistant Kitchen Manager** is responsible for managing and overseeing daily culinary operations to ensure the highest standards of food quality, freshness, and presentation at City Winery. The Assistant Kitchen Manager plays a vital role in achieving company goals by collaborating with internal departments and executing culinary strategies with creativity and passion. **Why us?** ● Competitive pay ● We are a rapidly expanding national entertainment and hospitality company, offering tremendous opportunities for driven and ambitious individuals. ● Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance ● nDORFins program designed to promote a healthy and active lifestyle! ● 401K (and yes we match!) ● Flexible Savings Accounts,HSA and Dependent Care, Basic Life and AD&D Insurance ● Amazing discounts, 50% OFF all dining/retail wine ● Free Family Meal ● Tickets to available shows And more! **Overview of Responsibilities** **General** ● Collaborate with the Executive Chef to oversee all kitchen production areas, working hands-on to schedule, coordinate, and supervise multiple shifts. ● Support in managing the kitchen staff, delegate responsibilities, set deadlines, and maintain accountability. ● Uphold and teach City Winery's philosophy, culture, and commitment to quality food and service. ● Monitor production procedures to ensure quality, consistency, efficiency, and professionalism at the highest level. ● Supervise adherence to standard operating procedures, including recipes, quality measures, product utilization, and planning for daily, weekly, and holiday operations. ● Enforce company policies, procedures, and guidelines while leading by example. ● Train kitchen staff on proper food storage, preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation techniques. ● Establish goals, anticipate challenges, and resolve issues related to kitchen operations. ● Implement and sustain culinary projects, initiatives, and tasks. ● Enhance production methodologies to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and consistency. ● Ensure sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained throughout the kitchen, inspecting equipment and supplies regularly. ● Collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute culinary elements for specialty events. ● Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by management. **Culinary Management** ● Oversee quality, quantity, and consistency of all food products and preparation practices. ● Ensure ingredients and finished products meet City Winery standards. ● Develop standardized recipes and preparation techniques to ensure consistent quality and cost control. ● Supervise food presentation and decorative displays, ensuring adherence to health regulations. ● Foster a positive work environment, build team morale, and maintain professionalism. ● Participate in hiring, training, supervising, coaching, and evaluating kitchen employees. ● Address performance issues, including disciplinary actions, in partnership with HR and per company policies. ● Provide regular feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and motivate the team to meet or exceed standards. ● Train and develop supervisors and staff on food preparation, production, and safety practices. ● Conduct regular kitchen staff meetings and actively demonstrate safe equipment usage. ● Monitor and manage food costs, labor costs, and payroll to align with company goals. ● Oversee proper handling of invoices and kitchen-related expenses. **Administration** ● Manage production schedules and staffing for all shifts. ● Ensure Shift Supervisors complete administrative duties, including logs, labeling, and associate-related documentation. **Minimum Qualifications** ● Minimum 3 years of kitchen leadership experience in a high-volume environment or equivalent relevant experience. ● AOS Culinary School graduate or related training preferred. ● Functional knowledge of Health Department, OSHA, and related regulations. ● Proven ability to multi-task, delegate, and manage projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. ● Experience managing budgets, including labor, food, and operating costs. ● Skilled in training, staff development, and fostering team morale. ● Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. ● Strong time management, organizational, and analytical abilities. ● Proficient in English (reading, writing, and communication) and business-related math. ● Proficient with computers and technology. ● Serve Safe food handler certification required. ● Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. for extended periods. ● Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. **About Us** Wine, food, and live entertainment collide at City Winery to create a dynamic and incredibly unique workplace.
