Sous Chef - Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor

The Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor is searching for a talented Sous Chef to help lead their culinary team! This 757-room property is adjacent to Oriole Park at Camden Yards, five blocks from Baltimore's Inner Harbor area and surrounded by downtown dining. Our hotel is connected to Baltimore Convention Center via skywalk, and we're a half-mile from Camden MARC Station, linking to the airport. This property has 128,043 total sq. ft. of banquet space, including outdoor multi-function areas and the largest hotel ballroom in Baltimore, overlooking Camden Yards!

This position will oversee a team of 10 hourly culinary team members and report to the Executive Sous Chef. The ideal candidate for this position will possess 1-2 years culinary supervisory or management experience in a hotel. Previous union experience would be considered an asset!

Shift Pattern: candidates should be flexible to work AM and PM shifts weekdays/weekends/holidays as needed

Pay Rate: $59,000 - $67,000 annually [final offer based on experience]

What will I be doing?

\n

As Sous Chef, you would be responsible for assisting with the direction and oversight of all culinary operations in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, a Sous Chef would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n\nAssist the Executive Chef in the direction and oversight of all culinary operations, to include, but not limited to, preparation and production of all hotel meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulation, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and overall profitability\nCreate and implement menu selections for special banquet themes and events based on current food trends and regional tastes in partnership with the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage, as needed\nEnsure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards\nAssist in monitoring and developing team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling and assisting with evaluations, training, scheduling and assigning work and delivering recognition and reward #LI-GL1\n
