Role Purpose:

We are seeking an Underwriter to become a part of Chubb's France Manufacturing Industry Practice Underwriting Team, with a focus on Marine risks. This role will focus on underwriting for various sub-sectors within the manufacturing industry (Luxury, Defense & Aerospace, Nuclear…etc among others). 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the growth of the portfolio with key brokers and clients.

Industry Practices differentiate Chubb as an industry specialist, including specialist underwriting expertise, differentiated products and propositions across multiple risk areas, and tailored service delivery.

The long term ambition for this role opportunity is to acquire technical underwriting expertise on the other lines of business with a view to become a multi-line underwriter

Key Responsibilities:

>Collaborate closely with more senior members of the team and wider community to drive production opportunities

>Financial Goals: Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines across multiple lines of businesses and local business plan.

>Initiative: demonstrate initiative skills to contribute to build up a book and be part of the launch of the new Manufacturing Industry practice within Chubb.

>Portfolio Integrity:  Ensure quality control within the defined area of responsibility by conducting quantitative underwriting reviews

>Producer Management: Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers and both internal and external clients. This role will involve servicing key producers and manufacturing clients, monitoring business acquisition and retention, and maximizing cross-selling opportunities.

>Procedures: Ensure compliance with company standards in respect of policy documentation, timelines for quoting new and renewal business, peer reviews, and other compliance issues.

>Chubb Representative: Act as a representative of Chubb and maintain ongoing contact with internal colleagues and clients, along with major manufacturing clients.

>Technical Ability: Ability to grow technical skills for underwriting 

Skills & Experience Required:

>experiences professional in underwriting marine risks for industrial companies. Additional line of business knowledges would be a welcome

>Ability to work in a team

>Familiarity with handling multinational accounts 

>knowledge of the French marine insurance market

> Understanding of the manufacturing sector would be a plus.

>Adaptable to developing skill sets related to underwriting additional lines of businesses.

>Broad business skills, including communication, organization, IT, presentation, and negotiation abilities.

>willingness to learn additional lines of business (casualty or property)

>Fluent English – native French language
