Role Purpose:
We are seeking an Underwriter to become a part of Chubb's France Manufacturing Industry Practice Underwriting Team. This role will focus on underwriting for various sub-sectors within the manufacturing industry (Luxury, Defense & Aerospace, Nuclear…etc among others).
The successful candidate will be responsible for the growth of the portfolio with key brokers and clients.
Industry Practices differentiate Chubb as an industry specialist, including specialist underwriting expertise, differentiated products and propositions across multiple risk areas, and tailored service delivery.
The long term ambition for this role opportunity is to acquire technical underwriting expertise on the other lines of business with a view to become a multi-line underwriter
Key Responsibilities:
>Collaborate closely with the Industry Practice Leader and wider community to drive production opportunities, including devising strategies to achieve the growth ambitions within Chubb’s Manufacturing Industry Practice.
>Financial Goals: Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines across multiple lines of businesses and local business plan.
>Entrepreneurship & initiative: demonstrate entrepreneurship skills to build up a book and be part of the launch of the new Manufacturing Industry practice within Chubb.
>Portfolio Integrity: Assist in formulating underwriting strategies, forecasts, and portfolio management to achieve underwriting profitability. Ensure quality control within the defined area of responsibility by conducting quantitative underwriting reviews, managing regular meetings, and facilitating peer reviews.
>Product Development: Prioritize and develop insurance products within the manufacturing sector collaborating with product development specialist to improve client retention and generate new business opportunities.
>Producer Management: Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers and both internal and external clients. This role will involve servicing key producers and manufacturing clients, monitoring business acquisition and retention, and maximizing cross-selling opportunities.
>Procedures: Ensure compliance with company standards in respect of policy documentation, timelines for quoting new and renewal business, peer reviews, and other compliance issues.
>Chubb Representative: Act as a representative of Chubb and maintain ongoing contact with internal colleagues and clients, along with major manufacturing clients.
>Technical Ability: Provide technical leadership for underwriting and marketing, including risk referrals and portfolio management; serve as a resource regarding unique coverage needs within the evolving manufacturing sector.
>Leadership – As a senior underwriter, you will support the Industry Practice Leader in establishing and promoting best practice within the team.
Skills & Experience Required:
>An experienced professional whose expertise is recognised in the market, and a proven ability to engage with brokers and clients effectively.
>Results driven with ability to make decisions and work on your own initiative.
>Significant experience of underwriting traditional property or casualty industrial risks, and ready to learn additional lines of business
>Familiarity with handling multinational accounts within the manufacturing industry would be a bonus but is not essential as training can be provided.
>Possesses a strong understanding of the manufacturing sector.
>Adaptable to developing skill sets related to both Property and Casualty underwriting.
>Broad business skills, including strong communication, organization, IT, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
>Results-driven with the ability to make independent decisions and work autonomously.
>Fluent English – native French language
