Description :

The HV Product Development Engineer is managing projects of development and industrialization of High Voltage cables in Vilanova in the phases of scheduling, design, prototyping, qualification and industrialization, as well as the associated documentation (technical and synthetic).

He or she can also participate to development of High Voltage cables in the other factories of Prysmian South Europe (Gron, Pignataro, Montereau).

Part of his or her activity is also dedicated to technical support to the Production, and to the development and improvement of technologies and process of production.

Main tasks :

Manage development projects (scheduling, execution, documentation, synthesis).
Report the Product development Manager South Europe and propose appropriate technical and economical solutions.

Define cable designs, define prototypes, issue trial orders, plan the prototypes production with factory scheduling, follow the production of prototypes in the factory, document the conditions of productions of the prototypes, issue the test requests to the laboratories for the qualification, validate the test results.

Set the process of production of the new cables (metallurgy, extrusion, …)

Pilot the industrialization in collaboration with production department

Define with the factory the investments needed for the mass production of new cables

Write the credibility documents for the qualification and submit them to client approval

Manage the Design to Cost portfolio for the Vilanova factory: identify the ideas of cost reduction, propose projects, follow the projects and actions, follow monthly the savings in the Group reporting tool

Give assistance to QHSE department in case of technical claim

Give a technical support to factory production

Formation :

Degree of Engineering in Material Science, or Mechanics, or Electricity  (…)

Experience :

5 years of previous experience in Industry R&D or Process, including projects management and expertise in some of the following areas:

design and characterization (electrical/mechanical/optical/physical)

extrusion oof polymers, design of extrusion tooling

knowledge in metallurgy (welding, drawing, …)

material characterization

Language :

English/Spanish : Professional

Soft skills :

Scientific rigor, flexibility, agility, autonomy, technical curiosity.
