Southeastern Community College Respiratory Therapy Education Stipend
Overview For Southeastern Community College Respiratory Therapy program students. The Southeastern Community College (SCC) Respiratory Therapy Education Stipend provides selected students an $18,500 education stipend to be used to assist with program costs. Upon graduation, and passage of related boards education stipend recipients will be required to work a 3 year, full time work commitment at OSF Saint Mary Medical Center as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. POSITION SUMMARY: The Respiratory Therapist works in accordance with evidenced based policies and procedures of the Medical Center with all patient populations. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by the prescribing physician that is appropriate to all the ages of the patients served. In accordance with established policies and procedures, administers medical gases, medications, airway clearance, mechanical ventilation, other respiratory modalities, monitor levels of supplies and equipment for department and patient care areas. Applies theoretical knowledge to care of neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with other members of the healthcare team by demonstrating competence in respiratory skills, problem solving, and critical thinking that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED Must be enrolled in Southeastern Community College's Respiratory Therapy program. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
