Position Purpose:  Support youth in building their writing, presentation, and leadership skills through creative writing, songwriting, and spoken word poetry. See www.southernword.org 

Skills and Abilities to effectively engage and relate to youth. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Responsive over e-mail. Ability to manage multiple college and work commitments. Competency in multi-media software a plus. 

Job function (1):  In conjunction with Southern Word team, plan, execute, and evaluate writing workshops, residencies, shows, and slams for youth in schools and at community organizations.   
Job function (2):  Support logistical and administrative execution of workshops, shows, and poetry slams.   
Job function (3):  Support marketing efforts both on-line and as street team.
