Description We are looking for a skilled SOX Analyst to join our team on a contract basis in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will support the Controller by performing specialized tasks related to compliance, reporting, and process documentation. This position requires expertise in auditing, business process functions, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to regulatory standards. Responsibilities: • Conduct detailed walkthroughs of financial and operational processes to ensure compliance with SOX requirements. • Update flowcharts and process documentation to accurately reflect current workflows and controls. • Assist in preparing and reviewing SOX forms to ensure timely and accurate submissions. • Analyze and validate reports to support compliance objectives and regulatory filings. • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in business processes and controls. • Provide expert guidance on accounting practices and compliance requirements within the mortgage industry. • Monitor and address any potential risks related to SOX compliance. • Support the Controller in ad hoc tasks, ensuring thorough and accurate completion of assigned projects. Requirements • Proven experience in auditing and compliance, specifically with SOX regulations. • Strong knowledge of business process functions and operational workflows. • Ability to update and create flowcharts and process documentation. • Excellent analytical skills to validate and interpret compliance-related reports. • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with stakeholders. • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in regulatory submissions and documentation.
