Job Title: Chemical Operator
Job Description

Operate chemical compounding equipment to create the correct chemical reactions. Follow specific batch sheets and document all corresponding information throughout daily activities. Use specific measuring equipment to weigh out raw materials to the correct proportions. Safely handle and properly dispose of regulated waste, wastewater, hazardous materials, etc. Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to ensure correct amounts are used and correct percentages of finished materials. Perform QC checks on finished materials, in-process materials, and raw materials as needed.

The overall work environment is clean, but some areas and chemicals can be dirty or hot. Some of the furnaces that forge new compounds can be hotter when running. You may need to go into hooded areas to operate machines and make certain chemicals that can be hazardous if breathed in. You must be comfortable working in hotter environments, dirtier areas, and dealing with hazardous materials. You will work with every element on the periodic table. There are seven total people in this group, and the team size will be 12 to 15 when fully staffed on all three shifts, so you will work in smaller teams to compound the materials. You MUST be able to work with others. There are openings for 2nd and 3rd shifts. The 2nd shift is Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with potential training on 1st shift before moving to the second shift. The 3rd shift is Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with potential training on 1st shift for a couple of weeks before switching to the off shift. There is an option to work overtime and/or weekend days, but on average, most people will work 40 to 45 hours per week. This is a chemical manufacturing environment, so you must abide by all safety processes, standards, and ISO regulations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.25 - $26.25
